A pipe band was formed amoung the men of Bready in the 1920s. Within a decade, the Bready Pipe Band was marching in its first ever twelfth, lead by pipe major Willie Doherty, and ex-soldier who had served at the front, and who continued to lead the band up into the 1960s.

In the late 1970s, the band began entering competitions. Their progress as a competitive band was swift, and in a short space of time, Bill Walker had lead the band to second place in the All Ireland Championships. And by the early 80s, they had finished up North-West champions three times in four years.

In 1985, Bertie and Martin Campbell took over as Pipe Major and Drum Seargent, leading the band to even more sucess, and promotion to grade 3 in three short years. Throughout the 90s, the brothers took the band further and further with Martin, Drum Sergent, winning seven Ulster titles, and an All-Ireland title in 1989.

In that same year the Bready Junior Pipe Band was formed, making sure that pipe music was entering the new millennium stringer than ever in Bready.
